Treating Crooked Teeth in Asheville, NC

Dental bonding and porcelain veneers are cosmetic dental treatments that help benefit patients with slightly crooked teeth. If you already have a bonded tooth or porcelain veneers but would like a replacement, we can help. Our dental team can easily replace old, dull, or damaged cosmetic treatments in our office. Learn about the similarities and differences between veneers and bonding treatment here:

Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers are thin shells typically made of porcelain ceramic. Because of this, they can easily cover crooked or misaligned teeth. We use veneers made of porcelain ceramic because they reflect light like natural teeth. Our team can also color-match veneers to the shade of natural teeth. We bond dental veneers to the front of each tooth. Dental veneers are permanent and last for many years with routine care. We will also recommend that patients stay away from foods and beverages that easily stain the teeth, as they can also discolor new veneers.

Lumineers are reversible, minimal to no-prep veneers. They are great for patients who have discolored teeth as they are more transparent than porcelain veneers. If patients would also like to address discoloration, we can recommend Lumineers.

Dental Bonding

Tooth bonding treatment uses biocompatible resin to cover imperfections in the smile. During a bonding treatment, we sculpt and mold the resin material to a prepared tooth. We shape the bonding material so that it creates an even bite and feels natural on the teeth. Then, we use a special light to cure the bonded teeth. Like dental veneers, we can color-match teeth to create bright bonded teeth.

Dental bonding is a quicker and more economical option when compared to porcelain veneers. We will recommend bonding for patients who have one or several crooked teeth and would like to subtly address their smile. Porcelain veneers are a better option for multiple crooked teeth and can even change the appearance of the whole smile.
